My First Batch of Cold Process Soap

I remember the day like it was yesterday. I was nervous, afraid but READY! Ready to try something new. I’d already tried my hand at making soy candles & wax tarts, lip balms, body butters and glycerin soaps. Now it was time for the BIG BOY stuff, well in my case BIG GIRL stuff, lol. I was about to make my very first batch of cold process soap.

I’d watched hours and hours of YouTube videos, browsed over a hundred webpages … I knew it was time. At the time, I’d pegged Anne-Marie Faiola from BrambleBerry Soap Making Supplies and SoapQueen as my favorite website to visit. It was a one stop shop for an app, supplies and recipes. The first soap I’d tried was Anne-Marie’s “Lots of Lather” recipe.

16 oz. Coconut Oil
16 oz. Palm Oil
16 oz. Olive Oil
2 oz. Castor Oil
13 – 19 oz. water
7.4 oz. Sodium Hydroxide

Here’s a look at my very first batch of cold process soap! It was paired with an oatmeal and honey fragrance. It wasn't the best looking soap I've ever seen but it was my first so it was beautiful to me!! Show me your first batch of soap! You can post them to our Facebook page and I will share them with the world!

Well Wishes,
